A Disneyland Save the Date

I have always dreamed of filming a Disneyland Save the Date film, and all that came together when I got in touch with Heidi & Wade.  It so happens that Heidi was a bridesmaid in a wedding we filmed back in 2014, so we already had a great rapport when sitting down to brainstorm.

We picked a Wednesday in September and planned an action packed two days to film!  6:25 a.m. flight out, landing at John Wayne at 8 a.m., in the park by 9.  Our biggest challenge was the fact that the park would close at 9 p.m. on Wednesday and 7 p.m. on Thursday…sadly our concept of doing long exposure shots at night (especially in the teacups!) was dashed…there is always next time!

Heidi & Wade as well as my assistant Dave were incredible troopers.  We just happen to pick two days in the middle of a Southern California heat wave were temperatures were over 100 and humidity was above 70%…quite atypical for this time of year.  We all powered through and kept hydrating and taking in a few water rides.

We knew food played a key role in their lives, so we wanted to incorporate as much food as possible.  On top of the turkey leg sequence, we wanted to do a little riff on Lady & the Tramp but with a famous Disneyland churro instead of spaghetti.

Also, what would a concept video be without a blooper reel?

We are so looking forward to their next adventure of being husband and wife come November!

Fun fact:   I had my first Dole Whip and it was incredibly delicious!
